  • Cholangitis is cause by gallstones blocking the gallbladder duct. Which is the passageway for bile. This can cause jaundice or infection in the bile duct.
  • Pancreatitis is cause by gallstones blocking the pancreatic duct, resulting in severe. Persistent abdominal pain that requires prompt treatment.
  • Cholecystitis prevents bile from flowing into the small intestine, resulting in excess bile in the gallbladder, increasing pressure on the gallbladder and causing inflammation. 
  • Bile duct cancer is more common in men than women. It is a malignant tumor arising from the cells lining the bile duct wall.
  • Bloodstream infection can be fatal.
